Not Sure?
September 13, 2007
If the answer to my question yesterday was “Umm…..no, I’m not sure that I’m supposed to be here”, then chances are…….you’re not.
James 1:5 says:
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Does your life seem unstable?
Are you lacking wisdom?
Did you ask God?
Did He tell you anything?
A good rule of thumb to go by when you are seeking God’s wisdom, (especially when it has to do with your calling in life) is confirmation in scripture. God speaks to us through his Word. (That’s why we have it!)
Another is confirmation in circumstances. He opens and closes doors.
The last is stepping out in faith. He wants to know that we believe Him.
Do you?
